Good evening. My 12 year old daughter has rashes in the crooks of both arms. They are fairly large, red, raw looking and itchy. She has had them for months. We have been trying Aquaphor with Cortisone 10 and no change. Would I be wasting my money if I got some Lotrimin, Monistat 7 and some Aquaphor and mixed it together and applied it to the rashes?
As per your case history, your daughter having intertrigo. My treatment advice is - 1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. 2. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on the affected skin. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetirizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole, and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
