Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a rash in my groin area for the entire summer. I thought it was from golfing and sweating – I got cream and applied all summer and it hasn t helped at all. I have known not golfed for 2 full weeks and with the cooler weather was hoping it would be better - if anything it is worse. It is certainly not any better.
rashes in groin can be due to intertrigo. it is commonly fungal in etiology. keep the area very dry. use ketokonazole soap. apply onabet cream.you can use antifungal powder too to keep area dry . you might need a course of oral antifungals like fluconazol or terbinafine ,itraconazol if the above measures do not work or if there is a relapse. wear loose fitting cotton garments to avoid sweating. you have to continue treatment till 1wks after disappearance of rash for permanent cure.
