What Causes Rashes In The Mouth And Penis After Taking Amoxicillin?
I had a reaction to Amoxicillin in the form of a diagnosed Thrush rash in my mouth. Have been taking Pms- Nystatin which seems to be clearing this up. Acouple of days after the rash appeared in my mouth the same looking rash showed up on my penis. I am 86 so there has been no sex. Is it possible that this rash can react like this. The penis rash is not subsiding at this point. When I read this over it sounds like a comedy line but after you have a chuckle I assure you this is a legit question
Yes, after taking antibiotics fungal Infection are commonly seen in mouth known as Oral Thrush and over the genitals known as Mucocutaneous thrush.. So my suggestion is to get a prescription of oral antifungal medication like Fluconazole and topical antifungal ointment.. Keep the area dry and clean and wear cotton inner wears.. Also get blood sugar levels checked as high levels can also delay clearing of Infection and even at times cause Infection .
Hope this helps..
Regards..
