What Causes Rashes Like Hives On Inner Thighs While On Imodium?

I have been taking Imodium for over a month. I have a rash on both inner thighs several inches wide and the entire length of my thighs. When irritated it looks like hives. Could this be caused by Imodium? I live in NH where it is very cold and dry... or is it dry skin. It has been enlarging over the past week. Thank you in advance for your response.

Hi.

I doubt we can blame imodium for this, but I would also recommend a visit to a doctor. First, because you have been on imodium for a month? If there is some underlying condition present that is causing the diarrhea you should be treating it, and not just suppressing the symptoms.

As for th rash, it could be dry skin, it could be a fungal/yeast infection, or it could be associated with the same condition causing the diarrhea and so on. I cannot be sure without a physical examination and an elaborate blood panel, please visit your doctor.

Best wishes.
