Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been struggling with a rash on my back, chestline, and panty lines for almost 3 weeks now. I ve been to the doctor twice first, prescribed a prednisone 6-day pack and some benedryl for the itchy. Did not find the prednisone helpful, but the benedryl seemed to help relieve the itchy somewhat. My second visit suggested it might be eczema and prescribed an antibiotic cream plus a nerve pill to calm down my anxiety. What else could this be? The cream doesn t appear to be helping much either.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on back and chest line. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , eczema , dry skin , eczema and erythema nodosum. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses on rashes , avoid applying any cosmetic product except petroleum jelly , take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl and drink plenty of water. If condition doesn't get well the consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order test like blood test, allergy test and skin patch test to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment or antibiotics like clindamycin .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwar
