What Causes Rashes On Body While On Levofloxacin For Pneumonia?

I was prescribed levofloxacin, for pneumonia . I ve taken it for 4 days and have broken out in a weird rash. The info on the drug is a little conflcting. It says that s a sign of an allergic reaction ..but not really clear if it should be discontinued ? The itching isn t too bad, so I can probably put up with it. Some of the info says a rash could be a sign of a more serious !!??? Should I stop taking it till I can see my dr.?

The rashes over the body can be secondary to the allergic reaction to levofloxacin. Nothing to be panic, consult your physician and get it evaluated. Immediately stop the drug and ask for a substitute. You can take a course of anti allergic like cetrizine.
