What Causes Rashes On Either Side Of The Ribcage?

my husband broke out mildly with a rash i am not familiar. it is under both arms along rib cage but not in arm pit leading few inches front and back. it also is on the upper inside thigh with a few small spots lower back. he did a lot of yardwork at our new home where we are slowly learning what blooms when during this first year. it is itchy and small amount is puffy but mostly just red discoloration.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

From the description of rash you have gave,it seems to be of allergic or urticarial in origin. It can be allergy to some environmental chemicals.

If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-Wash and dry the area thoroughly.
-Apply hydrocortisone containing ointment locally for relief from itching and redness.
-Oral antihistaminic like cetrizine once a day for 3 days.
-If the rash persist beyond 3 days, show it to physician as oral prednisolone may be needed as part of treatment.

Hope I answered your query.
Any further query is welcome.
