Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday I had a colonoscopy at 8:30 am and around 4:00 pm I started developing a rash on my legs, today the rash spread to more areas like arms and back. The rash is red and flat and gas a burning sensation. I went to the doctor and he said he has no idea, it could be something that I ate, or a reaction to the anesthesia. He prescribe steroids and a strong antihistaminic. I feel sick, and with a lot anxiety. Do you think the rash is caused by the type of anesthesia used during the procedure?
HI Well come to HCM| I really appreciate your concern, the rash may not be due to anaesthesia but it could be due to some hypersensitivity reaction and some time this self limiting condition and wait for some time this would be fine soon, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
