What Causes Rashes On The Body Of An Infant After Eating Rice Cerelac?
Hi, my baby is 7 months old. I started giving him rice cerelac, wheat apple cerelac and also giving him calcimax P to be given with something sweet as suggested by my pediatrician. So mix it in cerelac and sooji kheer as well. I also give him homemade moong dal khichdi, potatoes, Papaya and banana. I dont know exactly but after having rice cerelac (with calcium syprup) he gets rashes on his body and face. When I gave him rice cerelac without calcium he was fine. Cant understand if this is do somthing with cerelac alone or calcium or any other food. Kindly suggest.
It is not likely the calcium as calcium is found in milk products and he would be used to using milk but it may be the other ingredients in the syrup.
Normally when introducing foods to babies, one new food is introduced at a time and it is given for 3 days straight to look for an allergic reaction. Once this food has been used for this time with no reaction, it is then considered safe for the baby to use.
Two new foods or products should not be used at the same time because then it is hard to figure out what causes a reaction if one occurs.
Foods are only mixed after both of them have been used for the 3 days and both have been found to be okay.
I hope this helps
