Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has been using Spiriva for @ least 5 yrs now he is getting a bad rash on his body. nothing on his face just his back & legs. Now it has changed to be on his arms they look like welts. He has been to the Drs. & to the Dermatologist & not have been able to get any answers.
Sometimes, the medication may produce side effect symptoms like dry mouth, rash, sores or white patches around the mouth, lips or tongue.
You should inform your treating doctor so that your husband can be physically examined.
The allergic reaction can be stopped by either replacing the medication with a medication that suits your better or reduces the dose & monitors your husband carefully under observation.
You should inform your treating doctor if your husband had been taking any other medication along with Spirivia(to rule out drug interaction).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
