What Causes Rashes On The Chest, back And Arms?

Hello! My question is this...my husband has had a rash for about 3-4 months on his chest, back, scalp, arms and groin area. It clears up for awhile when using Benedryl and such lotions. Then comes right back. He has never had any allergies nor have we switched soaps or detergents. We are at our wits end! Any ideas? Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The fact that it responds to the benadryl means that it is likely due to an allergic reaction.

Since the exact source of the allergic reaction is not known, he may need to consider allergy testing.
This can be in the form of skin prick tests or a blood tests.

Allergy tests can check for a lot of different allergens.

This would allow him to determine the source of the reaction and eliminate or reduce his exposure.

I hope this helps
