What Causes Rashes On The Legs Along With Swelling On The Knee Cap?

I noticed a rash all over my legs today. Small spots, not raised, not itchy. Not spots on rest of body. Yesterday afternoon, my right knee became stiff. I have some swelling above the knee cap . No pain, unless I try to bend it. Also, area just below my right armpit has become very tender. I am a regular exerciser, but did not feel any strain or pull (no specific event). I ve never had a knee injury. Not sure if any of this is related?
