What Causes Rashes On The Lips And Hip While On Levothyroxine And Glimepiride?

I am a type 2 diabetic. I am going to send you a list of my meds. levothyroxine 200 mg,glimepiride 4mg 2x daily, hctz 25mg one half tab daily, enalapril 20mg 1 tab daily and trulicity 1.5mg/0.5ml by subcutaneous every seven days. I have been having issues the last 3 weeks. I have an injection on Sunday and on Monday morning I have large blotches on my chin below my lip and on my hip. I have been watching to see when this happens, also my teeth have been tingley feeling not hurt just feeling weird. I have been very upset because one of my front teeth is loose. I went to my dentist and she thought it was the way my teeth were not lineing up correctly and filed them down. This upsets me terribly, since I have always had dental care and do not want to loose my teeth. Do you think that I am having some type of drug reaction? I plan on calling my doctor. What do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is less likely due to drug reactions but more likely can be due to diabetes. However, any skin infection needs to be ruled out. X-ray or MRI of face may be needed to rule out subcutaneous infection and to rule out any signs of mucor as well.

Heroes is less likely with the history you presented. A dermatologist review should be sought for that rash examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
