What Causes Rashes With Red Spots On The Buttocks In Children?
My 3 1/2 year old started with around 8 red spots on her thighs this pm and now has them all over her stomach, back, neck and buttocks. They don t itch The only one bothering her is the one on the buttock.Any ideas what this could be or what else to look out for?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of rashes with red spots on buttocks. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like fungal infection, contact dermatitis, frictional heat generation, allergic reaction due to detergent, soap , fragrance, animal bite, or an insect sting, bacterial infection of hair follicles and lyme disease. Need not to worry. For now take benadryl twice a day , apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. Wear loose clothes. I would suggest you to avoid touching or picking rash. Maintain complete hygiene. You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
