Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I am concerened because my 10 month old woke up with a raspy voice yesterday and still has it today, hasn't worsened however she isn't sleeping during the night as usual nor is she sleeping for her regular 2 hour naps during the day it's now an hour maybe an hour and a half and the past 2 nights she been waking up crying numorous times. She is teething however I didn't want to give her any medication if I didn't have to, but my question is is there anything I can give her instead of medicine to ease her pain and to make her sleep longer? Also does this sound like regular teething pain or does the raspy voice make you think it's something else? She has no other symptomes ...
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. By what you quote as rasping voice I understand that it could be hoarseness of voice or stridor. Sudden onset of stridor without any symptoms in this age group.. I would think about ALTB or Croup. Keep her the most comfortable position and do not excite her. If it doesn't settle soon or keeps increasing or if she is breathless.. approach emergency room. Hope my answer was helpful for you. Happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
