What Causes Raspy Voice Along With Shortness Of Breath?

As I read out loud, I start to run out of breath. I ll have to breathe at random parts of the sentence. Also, if I talk for even a minute nonstop, my voice will start to sound a little raspy or will occasionally crack. I m female and eighteen if that extra info helps. Thank you.
