What Causes Reappearance Of Baker S Cyst Leading To Pain And Difficulty To Walk?
I am a 73 yr. old female .Had an MRI which says large horizontal tear of the posterior horn and body of the medial meniscus. Peripheral splaying of the medial meniscus with chondromyxoid degeneration from the osteoarthritis. Innersubstance tear distal of the anterior cruciate ligament. Mucoid degeneration of the anterior cruciate ligament. Moderate joint effusion/low grade chondromalacia patella. Large Baker cyst 66mm x 25mm x 20mm. The orthopedist has indicated he will have a brace ordered for me.The Bakaers cyst was drained once, but filled up again. I have had 8 sessions of Phy.Th. I am in my 3rd month of pain and walking is only with a great effort and much pain. Prior to this I was very active, exercising daily and able to do pretty much everything. Scooping snow seems to be what initiated all of this. Is there anything that can help me.I dread having to live like this the rest of my life. Thankyou YYYY@YYYY
Re-appearance of Baker's cyst can lead to pain and difficulty in walking since it can compress the tendons running across the popliteal fossa. Consult an orthopedist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
