What Causes Rectal Bleeding While Suffering From Asthma And COPD?

I was trying to go to bathroom felt like constipation,whilw I was straining to go it triggered an alergic reaction I could no longer breath I used oxygen and inhalers to recover it took about two hours.felt like I was going to die hurt my chest and taxed my heart.I do suffer from asthma and copd now the end results are blood coming from my rectum I am currently living on SS only I do not have the funds to pay today I could pay later this month thank you I am a retired Military Vet I have to go to my local VA

Hi,

Was it a frank bleeding (as if fresh blood coming from a wound) or just blood streaking of stools?

Frank blood suggests haemorrhoids and if it is just streaking, this can indicate an anal fissure secondary to constipation. In former case, kindly see you doctor by next day or so, as there are chances of further bleeds.

To relieve constipation, you can try taking bisacodyl 10mg at bed time for 5 days. Also take plenty of fibre rich items and enough water to make stool softer. Sitz bath 2-3 times a day will hasten healing of any fissure. If painful, you can apply lignocaine jelly there and take paracetamol. In case these measure doesn't seems helping in 2-3 days, kindly see your doctor.
