What Causes Recurrent UTI In An Infant?

Hi my daughter is 16 months old.she is getting urine infection every month or 2 month aftr stopping antibiotics .She got urine infection first time when she was 7 month .her weight is also less 8.4 kg. She is constipated too .doctor suggested to give low dose 1.5 ml of zifi 50 mg for 2 months and go for mcu and dmsa test. Need ur suggestion doctor for infection and can we give looz syrup for constipation

Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Since your daughter is just 16 months old, there are many medications for constipation that are not to be given when the child is below 24 months. You can consult your Pediatrician for the proper medications.
The commonest cause of repeated urinary tract infection in such a child is some anomaly in the urinary tract which needs to be found out by various urological investigations and get these surgically corrected, followed up in future to see if there is any recurrence of symptoms and signs.
Also needed is weight gains as 8.4 kg is low weight.
Continue Zifi as advised to get control over urinary tract infection to avoid any further complications.
