What Causes Recurrent UTI?

my husband currently has a recurring UTI...due to a calcified prostate. He has his 2nd apt to see an infectious disease doctor this week and is currently using antiobiotics. the new doctor thinks he might need intravenous antiobiotics long term. tonight he developed a lower abdominal pain along with a fever right now of 100.5. I m wondering if the infection is spreading and he might have the beginnings of sepsis (he s had it three times in the past few years). What do you think?

Hello
Went through your post, I would suggest you to go for a urine culture to identify the infecting organism and it's antibiotic sensitivity, which will help in directing specific treatment for the organism and prevent it's recurrence.
