What Causes Recurrent Chest Infection For My Newly-born After TEF Operation?
hello Dr.My daughter has been operated for TEF next day after birth 2004.since then she is sufferer with chest infection , cough and cold several times.she was further detected GER and same treated with fundoplication in 2012, now she suffers same chest infection but frequency in low as compare to previous day. My question is,why she is getting recurrent chest infection? She has allergy from dust and smoke,
The auto immune related issue with allergy to dust and smoke is directly responsible to show up that child has deficient of immune complexes, alteration in B or T cell pull or others. As there is history of TEF surgery, secondary narrowing may produce dysphagia, infection, fibrosis or else. A two way approach with X-ray and MRI of the chest (to get finer details of the organ) with upper abdomen will yield best clinical evaluation and further management guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
