What Causes Recurrent Cold And Cough?
I am 72yo white male with aortic valve replacement performed 3+ years ago. During a recent cruise to Alaska. I developed a cold (sniffles, coughing with phlegm) the phlegm was green and in color. Cleared within in one wk. Two weeks following the cruise a second cold developed. I am now back to sniffiling, coughing with phlegm. Biggest problem starts at nite. Does not persist through the nite. Any suggestions?

Recurrent cough and cold in cardiac patient should be investigated for heart failure and lung infection.
So get done ecg, 2d echo and stress test for heart failure.
Get done chest x ray for lung infection.
You may need diuretics or antibiotics based on diagnosis.
