What Causes Recurrent Fatigue And Fainting?

My boyfriend has been having these symptoms for several years but I am the first to be by his side while it happens. He said every couple of year the episode happens. This instance after a couple of days of drinking he felt fatigue, collapsed with his eye wide open with a blank gaze and begins to swore. I can scream his name a no response it has lasted a minute in longest episode. He does not snore normally. When he comes out of it he says that he felt faint and he says he can hear me but it sounds like i am very far away.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for your query.
I would like to clarify a few things.
Is he an alcolic? or a diabetic?
Is he a smoke?
Does he have any history of seizures?

I would like to rule out seizures.
alcoholics can be deficient in certain B group vitamins which can affect the nervous system and brain causing these symptoms.
He would need a more detailed examination , in addition to relevant blood investigations and Electroencephalogram ( a reading taken to monitor the conducting activity of the brain) to arrive at a proper diagnosis.
hope this helps.
wish you both good health
