Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Fever with
bronchitis is common.Bronchitis and other respiratory infections are mostly caused by viruses and symptomatic treatment is always enough. However, bacteria infection is common and will justify antibiotics.Persistence of fever with antipyretics and antibiotics may suggest
*the germ in cause is not responding to the antibiotic.
* It could be caused by an atypical or infra-cellular germ.
Antibiotics treatment may at time have as side effects
diarrhea.This is common with
amoxicillin which is well indicated in respiratory infections too.
I will suggest you try the following:
-Continue with the antibiotic she is taking
-Take an anti-pyreric like efferalgan
-Add a steroid like
prednisolone for say 5 days
-An anti-allergic like benadryl
-Avoid cold, dust and smoke
If the fever persist, you see the Doctor for a change of antibiotic or to try a second line treatment with a
macrolide like azithromycine and if need be culture and sensitivity test.
Hope this will help
Best regards
