What Causes Recurrent Fluctuating Body Temperature In A Child?

My daughter is 10 years old, weighs 59 pounds and is 56 tall. Her temperature seems to fluctuate, and has been for months now. With no other symptoms, she can develop a a mild fever of up to 100 degrees that will last anywhere from a couple of hours, to a couple of days. What could cause this?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of recurrent fluctuating body temperature which seems to be due to impaired immunity of child which is making susceptible of getting infected. It could be due to viral infection of body.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to focus on diet of child. Give plenty of liquids, multivitamin tablets. Drink plenty of water.

Start giving paracetamol 4 hourly when child is having fever. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should get blood tests done to find any underlying systemic pathology. Start treatment after proper prescription.

Avoid giving any cold carbonated beverage to child.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.
