General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi. Thanks for asking. I understand your query. - Head ache with dizziness can be due to involvement of Eustachian tube in sinus inflammation/ refractory error of eye/ ear problem/ cervical spinnal problem. - Even runny sinuses have an element of allergy & inflammation. So while you sleep .. there may be some collection in sinuses causing you head ache with dizziness ( following congestion of Eustachian tube connecting ear, nose & throat. - The night head ache with pain in back of head & ear can result from disturbed head posture due to high pillow. Or spondylitis. at cervical level. * You should have comfortable pillow while sleeping/ take vapor inhalation / saline gargles twice a day to clear nasal passage , Eustachian tube & throat. application of muscle relaxant ointment to neck & mild neck exercises ( with physiotherapist's consultation ) would help for neck pain. Consultation of orthopedic surgeon may be essential to deal non relieved back of head pain. Thanks. A cold pill like synarest twice a day would help.
