Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter has been experiencing headaches for about 2 months now. the headache comes a few times a day and last about 5seconds to 1 min each time. no particular pattern of when it will attack. it is usually at the front of her forehead or left or right temple. sometimes at the back of her head. she also has itchy eyes. it doesn't stop her from her regular activities but the frequency of headaches have been increasing. I'm worried that she has tumor, etc... is this possible?
Most headaches in general practice are ordinary tension headaches and need just an analgesic and maybe a tranquilizer but as symptoms are now for two months thus the following test must be done, as routine: -Check eyesight first. -Check blood pressure, control hypertension if present. -Check sinus tenderness over maxillary and frontal sinuses and look for any focus of infection in teeth, tonsils, and ears. -Check tenderness on the nape of neck or pain on neck movements. -If associated fever, check for neck stiffness. -If a headache is severe and progressive, refer to CT Scan. -If there is any neurological sign as a weakness of cranial nerves or limbs convulsions etcetera then refer immediately for CT Scan and neurologist opinion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Munish Sood
