What Causes Recurrent Itching Sensation On The Back?
Hi.. Female..61 today! Very healthy. I have an itch on my back..left upper side, specific spot. It comes and goes, feels like it is on inside of skin. Last 2 weeks it is constant. I thought maybe it was shingles, thought a shingles shot would get rid of it, it itches all the time now. A little red now due to constant itching, but nothing else on outside if skin.
As per your case history of itching on back, my treatment advice is:
1. Do not squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
