What Causes Recurrent Knee Pain Post Recovery From MCL Sprain?

I sprained my MCL roughly 6 weeks ago. It was feeling great last week (almost never hurting), but this week it started locking up and hurting again. So my question is could something else have been hurt due to the extra strain my injury put on my knee?

I really appreciate your concern, knee joint it very fragile one and if it is the MCL being injured then it may be surgical condition and it has to be managed in that way only, hope this information helps.
