Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Over the past few (5 or so) years I ve had recurring lumps in my buttocks. Regularly, I one or two lumps will get irritated, swell a bit and be red and sore for a few days. Within a week almost all irritation is gone and the bump seems to receed. They all occur is the same places and some can be felt in the tissue even when not irritated. When irritated it hurts to sit and sometimes hurts to dress. The lumps never seem to be any larger than a dime, are hard and painful (only when red/swollen) and ALWAYS come back. They seem too deep and cause enough pain to stop any draining efforts I try. Do you have any idea what they are and how I can get rid of them? Leaving them alone only temporarily helps until they come back and I have multiple but only one or two may be visible at a time. Thanks for any insight.
As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like Betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
