What Causes Recurrent Pain At The Back Of The Head Long After An Injury?
I was hit in the head a decade ago at the base of the back of my skull on the left side causing a dent and pain. I had severe and shooting pains from the area (small dent) headaches that went away. In late November (16-17 days ago), I started getting really sharp and overwhelming migraines that generate from the same area that has been relatively calm for almost ten years. I now have a permanent but fluctuating (from a 5-10) migraine and eating 12 tylenols and 4 600mg a day, had a CT with negative results and am at wits end. Can a migraine last forever? I don t drink, am a 62 year old male, and may take up drinking.

What Causes Recurrent Pain At The Back Of The Head Long After An Injury?
Hello, As a first-line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist you can consult a neurologist and plan for a CT scan. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
