What Causes Recurrent Pain In The Abdomen On The Right Side?

I have a pain that comes and goes in my right side. When I eat even small amounts it feels like there is a band around my stomach and it gets really hard. I have noticed lately that I get short of breath when I walk upstairs. I was diagnosed with a fatty liver but was never given a treatment or special diet.
