Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurrent Pain In The Right Leg While On Metoprolol?
I am taking metoprolol for high blood pressure and am having pain in my right leg, comes and goes, heat seems to help. Pain is very bad. I read somewhere that metoprolol could constrict blood vessels in the lower extremities . Could this be my problem?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This is not likely to be caused by Metoprolol. Pain in one leg would most likely be caused by a muscle or nerve problem. However, if there is swelling a blood clot could be the cause. See your doctor for an exam, but if there is swelling go to emergency or urgent care now.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
