What Causes Recurrent Pimple Like Bumps All Over The Body?
I get small bumps that look a lot like little pimples every once in a while on random parts of my body. When they show up they are one or two at a time. And when I scratch them a hard white head will come out, then it will bleed a lot for a long time. Do you know what it might be or what s causing them? It s only been about the last 6-12 months this had been happening
Recurrent red bumps all over the body that are itchy are commonly due to allergic reaction. Take non sedating antihistamines, Levocetriine, once daily for 5 days. It should subside. Locally you can apply hydro cortisone cream or calamine lotion.
If it does not then visit ER, you should get clinically examined. Get STD tests done to detect herpes simplex, contact dermatitis, etc. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. Your treating doctor will treat you with antibiotics/antivirals.
Do not share your toiletries, clothes or bedding. Avoid sex while you are being treated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
