Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband was diagnosed with recurrent rectal cancer to sacrum in Aug. 2016. He was initially diagnosed in 2003 for stage I and had a resection and temporary colostomy, reversed after 6 months. He has received 2 weeks of radiation and 3 cycles of Folfox. He has no control of his bowels or urination but did have excellent pain control. Our question is: should he have a colostomy or is there testing to show if sacral nerves are permanently damaged?
