What Causes Recurrent Sickness In A Child?

Hello I have a question concerning my 19 month old son. Everytime he goes to his dad s when his cousins come over he gets sick. What upsets me is his cousins parents don t take care of the children. They run around without being bathed and look homeless. The house they live in is a mess plus the smell cause they don t take baths. Could this be the reason my child is always sick cause of the kids not having good hygiene or washing hands? If so what do I do. I can t keep him away from visiting with his dad. My son s dad has to deal with the cousins cause his brother lives with him. So every other weekend the kids come over. Never fails after my child is exposed he gets sick.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Unhygienic environment puts infants at high risk for infection.

If symptoms are severe, better to consult a paediatrician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
