What Causes Recurrent Sinusitis With Lower Back Pain?
I am a healthy 30 year old male, and recently I have been getting recurrent sinusitis with lower back pain. I take over the counter medication to manage the symptoms (e.g. sudaffed) which is effective but I keep getting a sick again. I have not seen a doctor because the infections are most likely viral. However, I am concerned about the lower back pain which consistently reappears when I'm sick. (and does not occur any other time) Is the lower back pain a symptom associated with sinusitis? and is this indicative of any medical conditions?
As per your complain sinusitis occurs due to sinus infection that can be due to bacterial or viral infection. Secondly back ache can be due to a number of causes that can be related to muscular or bony abnormalities, however it is not commonly seen to be related to sinusitis. Therefore, for back pain consult an Orthopedician and get yourself evaluated.
Meanwhile take a combination of anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and muscle relaxant like Chlorzooxasone. For sinus infection consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and he can advise you sinus x ray. You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room.
