What Causes Recurrent Soreness In The Throat And White Spots On Tonsils?

Hi, I m a 22 year old female.i had Quincy December 2016 and since then I ve a reoccurring sore throat which lasts for ages. White spots appear on my tonsils but they are constantly swollen and seem to be scarred! I was wondering what the next step is and I m fed up of having a sore throat/ tonsillitis.

Hi, The disease pattern after Quincy is the surrounding tissues of tonsils will be fibrosed. the fibrotic tonsil has less vascularity thereby accepting any infective focci when get exposed to cold water/ aerosl mixed with virus from coughing individuals and food debris will get accumulated in tonsillar crypts which causes frequent soreness of throat and white spots on red inflammed tonsils.
So my advice is to undergo Interval tonsillectomy that is tonsillectomy 21 days after Quincy. In your case check with the ENT dr and plan your surgery. Ort else frequent Pharyngo tonsillitis and Quincy are possible outcomes. take care.
