What Causes Recurrent Swelling And Bleeding Of Gums?

My gums have been bleeding slightly for a number of years but I noticed the extent recently when I started using interdental brushes and seen how my gums gush of blood. The worst part is the gum by my upper molars and occasionally these areas can see swollen and irritated. The gum between two upper molars has flared up and it feels very irritated, almost itchy. Can I do anything to relive this feeling?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..

As per your complain bleeding from gums with a gush of blood on using interdental brush and along with it swollen and itchy gums at the molars seems to be most probably due to severe gum infection leading to inflammation of the gums..
Due to inflammation there is swelling and bleeding from gums..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and also get a Panoramic x ray done to get checked for the depth of infection on the gums and that whether it has progressed to the underlying bone or not..
You can be advised Scaling of teeth followed by curettage and also a course of antibiotics like Metronidazole and Doxycycline along with anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, antiseptic mouthwash gargles and gum paint application..
Do warm saline gargles..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
