What Causes Recurrent Swelling In The Body, Excessive Thirst And Weight Gain?

I can barely walk up right . Am having continueous swelling of all parts of my body, sometimes the swelling is in just a few places. The back spasms are so bad at times that I can neither wear a bra nor any pants that come above my hip line. I am also constantly thirsty, as well I crave salt. I am not eating any more than any other time, but I have gained around 20 lbs in a month I do not sleep more than 2 to 3 hours in a 24 hour period. What do you think it could be?

hi madam,
welcome to Health Care Magic,

I can certainly understand your concern towards your swelling all over the body, its better to rule any hypothyroid condition, as there is sudden weight gain and get your T3, T4,AND TSH done and please get back to me with the reports

If there is no abnormality with thyroid , another possibility could be that you have to undergo renal function tests, liver function tests, chest x-ray and ECG, as it could be related to heart problem, and it is required to treat the cause accordingly, consult your doctor with all these reports, hope this information would help you.

please post your further questions if any
thank you
