What Causes Recurrent Urinary Tract Infection?

My wife has had a series of UTIs over the past year. Has taken one antibiotic after another. Continues to feel uncomfortable The latest antibiotic was Cipro. She now has lower back pain. X-ray showed nothing abnormal. Typical arthritis for 70 yr. old. Tendons in wrist also hurting. She suspects Cipro is cause of the tendinitis. She is down about continuing UTIs. Should she see another Urologist? The back pain/tendinitis is not relieved by Motrin or Aleive. Suggestions?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to get an urine culture and drug sensitivity to determine the most appropriate antibiotic. Pain in wrist joints may not be associated with antibiotic. I suggest you to consult a rheumatologist for wrist pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
