Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been getting yeast infections recently so this time around when I had the exact same symptoms, I decided to use the 1 day treatment of canesten. Unlike before, the discharge from inserting the pill is not white, instead it is a pretty dark yellow. Why is that?
Firstly, the cause of the recurrent yeast infection has to be known so that behavioral changes could be made. Your pants have to be cotton, wear whole pants not string like pants, avoid internal cleaning of the vagina with antiseptic soaps, cleaning of the anus from back to front.
If you are pregnant or you are taking contraceptive pills, you will be more prone to having yeast infections. With recurrent infection, one day treatment is insufficient as treatment for upto 7 days will be needed. In addition oral Fluconazole will also be beneficial.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Achuo Ascensius
