What Causes Recurrent Yeast Infections?

i have had chronic yeast infections for a few years. I always get a yeast infection the week before my period. I have cleansed. I have stopped drinking alcohol and i have adapted my diet several times. I am now on a strict paleo diet for months but still get them. I am now getting discouraged. I am thinking i have hormone imbalance somehow since it is always the week before my period. Could that be?
