What Causes Recurring Abdominal Cramps During Mid Pregnancy?

I am 24 weeks pregnant and have had severe cramping off and on for the past 3 days. It has gotten worse the last hour. It doesn t feel like a contraction, it feels like bad period cramps. Should I go to the hospital to get checked tonight or call my doctor in the morning.

Hi

Most women first notice these false labor contractions late in the second trimester -around 24 weeks or so. But they can become much more common in the last weeks of your pregnancy.

You can check up with the doctor tonight.Fetal heart rate should be monitored. If normal and there is no bleeding or spotting, you need not worry.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.

Regards
