Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have extreme abdominal pain off and on for a couple months. Going to the bathroom has no affect to lesson pain. Seems to have nothing to do with pain. My water intake has been inconsistent. It primarily happens within 5 minutes of eating or drinking.
There are many causes of abdominal pain after eating like gall stones, gastritis, peptic ulcer, food allergy, pancreatitis, intestinal obstruction and worms etc. cause needs to be investigated. Advice 1. Albendazole 400 mg per oral at bed time for 3 days 2. Omeprazole 20 mg per oral daily empty stomach for 10 days 3. Dicyclomine 20 mg per oral when pain occurs 4. Avoid smoking, alcohol, and spicy food 5. Do not heavily at a time. Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day 6. Avoid a particular food if pain occurs particularly after eating that food. Allergy particularly occurs for dairy products 7. Investigations – R/E stool, ultrasound whole abdomen Further action will be taken after report. If your pain worsens then consult a doctor for further management. Thanks
