What Causes Recurring And Stabbing Abdominal Pain While Having Hernias?

i have been having stabbing pains in my left abdominal under my rib cage that has come and gone for two months. I have two hernias in my middle stomach area and diverticula. Nobody can figure out where the pain is coming from could it be the hernias?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Abdominal pain is a common side effect of a hernia.

I recommend using Buscopan to treat the pain.

I also recommend doing an ultrasound and a complete blood count for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
