Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!
I read your question carefully and understand your concern.
Did her symptoms occur suddenly, maybe after holding a heavy weight or after a fast banding down?
This symptomatology seems to be related to a back
vertebral column disorder. The fact that she can't even move her back is a strong argument in favor of this diagnosis.
It may be just a lumbar distortion (from the rigidity and calcifications of the vertebral column ligaments) or chronic degeneration.
I would recommend performing a careful physical examination and a thoraco-spinal spine
x ray.
A spine
CT scan may be helpful to examine better her back bones and disks.
Meanwhile I would recommend taking some painkillers like
ibuprofen and
acetaminophen. The sedatives (sleeping medicine) are very helpful to relieve the muscle contractions.
Regarding stalopam, it is usually used in chronic
nerve pain, more than acute one, and I would recommend waiting 2 weeks before starting its use.
Some tips would help with the pain:
- warm procedures on the back spine
- physiotherapy
- avoid staying for a prolonged time in sitting or standing up position
- avoid holding heavy weights
- perform regularly physical exercise to prevent these episodes.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best regards,
Dr. Iliri
