Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my oldest sister keep having these blackouts and going back and forth to the hospital, I am concerned her heart, but they say their doctor say otherwise. I had heart block now have a pacemaker...asked if they told her doctor, cause I never passed out but had to sat. She goes out in her wheel chair..
Let me tell you that a blackout is a temporary loss of consciousness. There are three major reasons why people experience blackouts. a.Syncope, which is a sudden lack of blood supply to the brain. Syncope is caused by a problem in the regulation of blood pressure or by a problem with the heart. b.Epilepsy c. Psychogenic blackouts resulting from stress or anxiety. I suggest talk to her doctor for a diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
