Hi, I m concerned about my mom. She is 54 years old. She has diabetes and doesn t seem to be able to control bad eating habits. My mom just told me that she has diarrhea and gets it frequently i m making sure she stays hydrated. I m worried about there being something serious causing the diarrhea. I m sure it isn t normal to get it all the time. Thanks in advance for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Diabetes leads to low immunity so infection gets you easily and also the neuronal control of gut becomes weak causing motion problems. Be sure to keep your gut healthy with probiotics and check on your eating habits, get a stool routine and culture done and see a near doctor for an antibiotic course.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
