Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my granddaughter age 4 runs a temperature every month for 3 or4 days. It can go as high as 102. We give her motrin to keep her temp down and to keep her comfortable. we have just started to realize that she seems to get a temp every month. The only other symptom seems to be a rash under her nose a few days before the temp. She is starting pre k and will miss at least 1 day in the second week of school. She is very happy most days, takes better than many adults and is ahead on letters and numbers. My daughter and son in law are frustrated.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your granddaughter is having recurrent fever which is due to impaired and reduced immunity body. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to take antipyretic drug such as paracetamol and along with that do tepid sponging in between depending on intensity of fever. Visit general physician once and get it examined to find out the cause of fever after thorough investigation. If required request your physician for any lab tests which may be required and start treatment as per that. You can take Crocin as well every 4-6 hrly. You should take Meftal P tablet as well. If symptoms still persists go for blood tests and then start treatment as per that. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. You should get immunoglobin level tested as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
